Almapharm MethioCream

Almapharm MethioCream 150 ml paste was specifically developed to support the dissolution and prevention of recurrence of struvite crystals and struvite stones in dogs and cats. Thanks to the DL-methionine it contains, this dietary supplement effectively acidifies the urine. A single pump delivers exactly 200 mg of DL-methionine and 40 mg of taurine to your pet. Thanks to its particularly palatable formula, the paste is very well accepted by animals.

Please note that the effect and urinary pH should be monitored at regular intervals when administering urinary acidifying agents. With long-term use, increased attention must also be paid to the potential formation of urate, oxalate, and cystine stones.

Divide the daily dose and mix it into the food in the morning and evening.

Intensive treatment: The duration of intensive treatment is usually up to 6 weeks.
Long-term treatment: Half the amount is sufficient.

Note: The dosage of methionine-containing dietary supplements should be administered according to the recommended usage. Initially, administer a higher dose of methionine if necessary to achieve a rapid reduction in pH. After approximately one week of feeding, measure the urine pH on an empty stomach or at least 4 hours after the last meal, and determine the maintenance dose if necessary. The urine pH should be determined regularly to adjust the feeding amount to the dog’s needs. Ensure the dog has adequate access to water. With long-term use of urine-acidifying substances, increased vigilance is required regarding urate, oxalate, and cystine stones.

Keep out of reach of children and animals, and protect from direct sunlight and temperatures above 40 °C. Immediately reseal the container with the cap after use. Use promptly after opening.
