Water analysis for ponds and aquariums
Good water quality is crucial for keeping fish successfully. Regular water tests are used to monitor the water quality in the pond or aquarium and help to detect any filter problems or insufficient water changes at an early stage. We offer water tests in the form of rapid tests or color change tests for all important water parameters.

Water quality is influenced by various factors such as feeding, stocking density, filtering, plant and algae growth, lighting/time of day or seasons. It is therefore advisable to regularly check the most important water values and take the necessary measures if necessary. If certain water values are in the toxic range, extensive water changes should always be carried out as an emergency measure.
There are various products for water analysis in ponds or aquariums, which can be used depending on requirements and desired accuracy. One simple and quick option is test strips, which display the seven most important values in one minute:
pH, carbonate hardness (KH), total hardness (GH), nitrite (NO2), nitrate (NO3), chlorine (Cl2) and carbon dioxide (CO2). These values provide a good overview of the condition of the water and can be determined more precisely with drop tests if required.
Drop tests are more precise than test strips and allow individual values to be measured specifically. They are particularly recommended for critical or sensitive values such as nitrite or ammonium/ammonia.
For certain water parameters, there are also digital measuring devices that offer high accuracy and easy handling for regular use. Digital meters are available for oxygen, pH and electrical conductivity, from which the salt content can be derived. The meters provide immediate and accurate results that can be read on a display. However, these devices also need to be recalibrated periodically.
Choosing the right product for water analysis in ponds and aquariums depends on individual requirements and budget. However, it is important that the water analysis is carried out regularly so that any problems can be identified at an early stage.
