Singular elm bark is rich in nutrients, minerals and trace elements.
The bitter substances and tannins it contains stimulate intestinal movements. The stomach, liver, gall bladder, pancreas and intestines increase their digestive juices. This has a positive effect on the self-regulation of the gastrointestinal tract and can significantly reduce digestive problems.
A healthy digestive system favors an intact intestinal flora.
For singular elm bark, European species are used, which are characterized in particular by their high content of tannins and less by the strong mucilage formation attributed to the American/Canadian species.
In phytotherapy, components containing tannins are always the first choice for digestive disorders associated with diarrhea. Mucilages are less suitable, as they could provide an even better breeding ground for unwanted bacteria.
Products containing mucilage, such as cdVet Stomach Protection, can be used afterwards to alleviate any irritation.
