Climate protection is important to us

Therefore, iPet.ch offers all interested customers the opportunity to voluntarily make a contribution directly at checkout to compensate for the CO₂ emissions caused by the product purchase.

Given the breadth of our assortment, an exact determination of the emissions caused by production, packaging, and transport of individual products is unfortunately not possible. Therefore, we have decided on the following pragmatic approach:

Pet Food Products: Literature values for dog and cat food show a range of directly and indirectly caused CO₂ emissions during production, packaging, and transport of 2.0-3.6 kg CO₂ per kg of food. In accordance with myclimate's recommendation, we apply a value of 3.4kg CO₂e / kg for dry food and a value of 2.3 kg CO₂e / kg for wet food to all feed products offered for sale in our shop. This value is calculated based on the weight for the package size and proposed for compensation. For pet food brands manufactured outside of Europe, this value is increased by another 5% (transport surcharge). For vegetarian feeds and feeds produced on the basis of insect proteins, we reduce this value by 20%.

Accessory Products: For our accessory products, we have decided to suggest a climate protection contribution of 1% of the sales price to our customers. Any discounts are deliberately not taken into account here.

If a supplier provides us with the exact CO₂ footprint of their products, we store these exact values for the corresponding products.

We donate 100% of our customers' climate protection contributions to the climate protection projects of the myclimate foundation. iPet.ch GmbH alone bears the costs associated with the collection and transmission of the climate protection contributions. Refund of Climate Contributions
Once the order has been prepared for shipping, the paid climate contribution cannot be refunded. The entire amount is forwarded directly to myclimate and invested in certified climate protection projects.
