Ein Öl wie Lachsöl enthält keine verwertbaren Eiweissbestandteile mehr, da tierische Fette üblicherweise vollständig protein- und kollagenfrei sind. Da es zudem keine verbindliche Definition des Begriffs Monoprotein gibt, zählt in der Praxis ausschliesslich die verwendete tierische Proteinquelle.
In diesem Produkt stammt das gesamte Eiweiss ausschliesslich vom Pferd, sodass die Trainingshappen als Monoprotein gelten.
