The ideal size for your Crate

Crates should protect the animals well and should therefore not be too big or too small. Therefore, measure the height of your dog from head to paw and the length from head to tip of tail. Ideally, mobile kennels should be approx. 15 cm taller and longer than your dog. This will allow your dog to lie down comfortably and sit upright, with enough space and without feeling restricted. If your dog is not yet fully grown, you should choose a dog carrier that is a few sizes larger.

The right mobile kennel for every requirement

Mobile kennels are made from different materials. They are available in aluminum, plastic or nylon, for example. Aluminum is particularly robust, durable and very easy to clean, but also significantly heavier than similar plastic models. However, the plastic versions are particularly suitable for air travel or visits to the vet. Nylon crates offer a lot of comfort. They are soft and particularly comfortable. However, they must be washed regularly to remove odors and dog hair.

How to get your pet used to the Crate

To ensure that your pet gets used to the mobile kennel as quickly as possible, it is beneficial to use it from puppyhood. Place the crate in the home or garden so that the dog immediately recognizes it as part of its territory when playing or sleeping. At the beginning of training, it makes sense not to close the box straight away so that the dog does not feel locked in. The time spent in the Crate should be gradually adapted and extended. In this way, the animal learns to handle the crate in a relaxed manner.
