The HI713 model measures phosphate in the range of 0.00 to 2.50 mg/L.

Package contents: Unit including 2 measuring cuvettes with lids, reagents for 6 tests, battery, and user manual.

Preparation: Turn on the unit. As soon as "Add C1" flashes on the display, the Checker is ready.

• Zero measurement (C1): Fill the included cuvette with 10 ml of aquarium water, screw on the lid, and thoroughly clean the outside with a microfiber cloth. Insert the cuvette into the Checker, close the lid, and press the button.
• Add reagent: Remove the cuvette and carefully add the contents of a Hanna reagent packet (e.g., HI736-25) to the water.
• Dissolve: Screw the cap on tightly and shake the cuvette for approx. 2 minutes until the powder is completely dissolved.
• Measurement (C2): Clean the cuvette again, place it in the Checker, and hold down the button until the 3-minute countdown begins.
• Reading: Once the time has elapsed, the device displays the phosphate value (or phosphorus value) directly in ppm. 

Important tips for accurate results:

• Dissolving the reagent: The reagent powder must dissolve completely to avoid false-positive results.
• Cleanliness: Do not leave fingerprints on the glass.
• Oxygen: Add the reagent powder quickly to prevent the sample from absorbing too much oxygen.
• Disposal: The sample should be disposed of after the measurement to prevent permanent discoloration of the cuvette.
• Cleaning: Rinse the cuvette with RODI water after the measurement. 
• The Checkers offer a highly accurate, digital alternative to chemical drop tests and are particularly suitable for marine aquariums for monitoring low phosphate levels (ULR)
