Otodine is a highly effective, disinfecting ear solution for dogs and cats. It was specially developed for deep cleaning and care, primarily targeting bacterial pathogens in the ear canal. Especially for chronic or recurring ear problems, this product offers an innovative treatment concept to specifically support your pet’s ear health.

The solution’s exceptional effectiveness is based on the synergistic combination of the active ingredients chlorhexidine and Tris-EDTA. Tris-EDTA, specially adjusted to a pH of 8, significantly enhances the bactericidal properties of chlorhexidine. Together, they not only effectively combat Gram-positive bacteria (such as staphylococci and streptococci), but also demonstrate strong activity against stubborn Gram-negative pathogens (such as E. coli, Pseudomonas, and Proteus). In cases of chronic inflammation, the solution can also be used as a preparatory step to optimally prepare the ear for subsequent local antibiotic administration.

When caring for your pet, your animal’s safety is the top priority. Please never use cotton swabs to clean the ear, as this can injure the sensitive ear; instead, use only soft cotton pads or a piece of gauze. Important note: Do not use this product if a perforated (damaged) eardrum is suspected. Consultation with a veterinarian is always recommended for any unclear ear conditions. Avoid contact with the eyes.
