In the case of skin diseases such as mauke or eczema, a thick, sticky scab often forms. The underlying skin areas can hardly be treated in this way.

Keralysin ointment gently dissolves scabs. The ointment contains low-viscosity oils that gently soften the crusted skin. The incrustations can then be gently removed without mechanical irritation and injury to the skin, often after just one application. This allows the underlying pathogens to be treated.

The ointment has proven to be particularly useful for horses with long hangings in the fetlock bend, such as Friesians, as the hangings do not have to be removed.
