Kobre®San Sturgeon Line Small All Season/Winter

Kobre®San Sturgeon Line is the sturgeon feed line for year-round use.

It is a high-quality, sinking feed with a grain size of 3 mm.

In order to provide the sturgeon with optimum nutrition, feed specially developed for sturgeon must be used. The sturgeon feed consists of high-quality fish meal, proteins and carbohydrates, supplemented with essential micronutrients (vitamins, minerals and trace elements). The optimum amount of food for sturgeon is 1% of body weight per day.

As sturgeon have a lower mouth (except beluga sturgeon and spoon sturgeon), they only eat from the bottom of the pond, so sinking food is recommended.

The food has a strong inherent odor, which is similar to the natural food (insect larvae, worms, molluscs) of the fish. Sturgeons should be fed as often as possible during the day in small quantities, as they completely ignore food that has been in the pond for longer than 1 hour. In general, sturgeon should always be fed in the same place and on a clean substrate.

If sturgeon are kept together with koi, the koi on the surface of the water should always be fed first, as they would otherwise eat the sturgeon's food. If this is the case, they must be fed in the dark, as sturgeon tend to be nocturnal. When keeping large koi, the sturgeons should also be large enough. Another option would be to use a PVC pipe to transport the food past the koi directly to the bottom of the water.
