The pure seaweed meal from Paws & Patch is obtained from the fresh seaweed "Ascophyllum nodosum". Seaweed meal is a natural source of iodine from the sea. It is suitable as an additive for BARFing, as an addition to home-cooked food or in times of increased stress. Paws & Patch seaweed meal is 100% natural, free from artificial additives and fillers. It is grain-free, lactose-free, soy-free and sugar-free. The seaweed meal has a fine grain size, does not create dust and can be easily dosed.

Origin
The seaweed "Ascophyllum nodosum" is also known as knotted kelp or Norwegian kelp. The algae is a type of brown algae that is widespread in the North Atlantic and Europe. In Europe, the natural distribution area extends from the Canary Islands to Spitsbergen and also includes the North and Baltic Seas. The algae naturally contains a high proportion of minerals, trace elements, valuable amino acids (protein building blocks) and vitamins.

Source of iodine
Seaweed meal is a natural source of iodine. Due to the natural compound in the seaweed, the iodine is very bioavailable. Iodine supports the maintenance of normal skin metabolism and the natural pigmentation of the coat.
Iodine contributes to normal energy metabolism. Feeding seaweed meal can stimulate gastrointestinal activity in dogs and cats. Cellulose and mannitol support normal digestion.
Seaweed meal can also contribute to general well-being and support the immune system. Iodine contributes to normal cognitive function and normal functioning of the nervous system. Seaweed meal can be fed to support higher energy expenditure (e.g. performance training, endurance).
