Yes, Calingo offers this option when taking out dog or cat insurance. A pre-existing condition is a medical diagnosis that dates back no more than 24 months at the time the insurance is taken out. If the diagnosis dates back more than 24 months, it is no longer considered a pre-existing condition and is therefore covered by the basic insurance. Pre-existing conditions that were diagnosed or treated for the first time in the last 90 days prior to taking out the insurance are excluded.

It's quite simple. You follow the link "Report vet visit" or report the treatment by phone at 0800 00 57 90. There, you provide your details incl. bank details, answer a few questions about the treatment, and submit the veterinary bill. Claims are processed and settled within one week on average.

You can choose the amount of the annual deductible yourself when taking out pet insurance. (CHF 0.–, 150.–, 300.–, 500.–, 1'000.– or 2'000.–).
