Pezz Gut Flora Test
Test the composition of your dog’s or cat’s gut flora at home. A healthy gut flora is crucial for digestion, immunity, and overall well-being.
The gut flora test allows you to detect early on whether the bacterial balance has been disrupted—for example, due to stress, a change in diet, or antibiotic use—and take targeted action. This helps you strengthen your pet’s gut health in the long term, rather than just treating symptoms.
Benefits:
- Early detection of imbalances: Identify in a timely manner whether your pet’s gut flora is out of balance—even before symptoms become more severe.
- Targeted support for gut health: The results help you and your veterinarian tailor nutrition and probiotics for optimal results.
- Improved well-being & strong immune system: A healthy gut means a strong immune system, stable digestion, and more energy.
- Easy to perform at home: No vet visit necessary—sample collection takes just a few minutes.
What is tested?
The gut flora test examines the composition of microorganisms in your pet’s gut.
It shows whether the gut flora is in balance or if dysbiosis is present—that is, an imbalance between “good” and “bad” bacteria.
In the lab, the quantity and distribution of important bacterial and fungal groups are analyzed, including:
- Escherichia coli (E. coli): protects the intestinal mucosa and supports the immune system
- Enterococcus spp. (enterococci): stabilizes the gut flora
- Clostridium spp.: produces beneficial fatty acids, but can promote inflammation if overgrown
- Bifidobacterium spp.: protects against pathogenic microorganisms
- Lactobacillus spp.: supports healthy digestion and the immune system
- Candida spp. (yeasts) & fungi: can proliferate in cases of dysbiosis
This provides you with a precise overview of the most important health-related components of your pet’s gut flora.
How is the test evaluated?
The submitted fecal sample is microbiologically analyzed in a specialized laboratory. During this process, the relevant bacterial and fungal groups are quantified and compared to reference values for healthy animals.
The results show:
- which microorganisms are detectable
- whether individual groups are present in higher or lower quantities
- whether dysbiosis is present
You will receive an easy-to-understand report explaining all the values and their significance. Your veterinarian can interpret the results and recommend targeted treatment or support.
