ROYAL CANIN® Diabetic is a balanced and nutritious formula specially developed to regulate blood glucose levels in adult cats with diabetes mellitus.

Glucomodulation
Glucomodulation means that food can have a direct influence on a cat's blood glucose level. A suitable diet with a high protein content, low starch content and adapted fiber content can help to keep the rise in blood sugar levels after eating as low as possible.
High protein content
Healthy muscle mass is particularly important for cats with diabetes. With its high protein content, this recipe helps to build and maintain healthy muscle mass.
Low starch content
Food containing starch increases the postprandial blood sugar reaction. This recipe with reduced starch content supports the control of postprandial elevated blood glucose in cats with diabetes.
S/O Index
This food also creates a urinary environment that discourages the formation of struvite and calcium oxalate stones.
Important note
This product is a veterinary diet from the ROYAL CANIN® Veterinary Health Nutrition range. It is therefore important that the food is only fed on the recommendation of a veterinary surgeon. This will ensure that your pet receives exactly the food it really needs. A change in diet should be made carefully and gradually over a period of 7 to 10 days. Pay attention to the correct portion size - especially with mixed feeding.
Mixed feeding possible
To meet the individual preferences of all cats, ROYAL CANIN® Diabetic is also available as a dry food with crunchy kibble. Mixed feeding gives the food different consistencies, which can be appealing and have a positive effect on consistent, predictable food intake. Wet food has a more intense flavor and its moisture content helps to regulate the animal's water balance. Dry food, on the other hand, is easier to ingest and good for the teeth.
