The hamster ship from swisspet is a cute little wooden house that offers your dwarf hamster (the entrances are too small for golden/teddy hamsters, especially with full cheek pouches) a place to retreat to in the enclosure. Wood is a natural and breathable material and therefore very suitable for rodent furniture. As the house is nailed, you should regularly check that it is not gnawed on too much to prevent injuries.

Note: Please note that golden and teddy hamsters as well as dwarf hamsters and Chinese striped hamsters are solitary animals and should therefore be kept individually, as this can lead to violent fights and even death. Hamsters are poor climbers and often passionate diggers. This means that a species-appropriate enclosure should have a bedding depth of at least 25 cm and a maximum drop height of 15 cm everywhere. A sand bath (not bird sand, but extra rodent/bathing sand!) should be provided for grooming.
