Tetra SafeStart

Tetra SafeStart allows tropical fish to be added directly to a new aquarium without the usual cycling phase. The unique blend of live bacteria immediately creates a safe, biologically active environment and acts as a fast and effective aquarium starter.

By rapidly establishing a biological balance, it prevents dangerous nitrite spikes that frequently occur in newly set-up aquariums and can lead to fish mortality. The bacterial cultures contained in the product naturally break down ammonia and nitrite, ensuring stable water parameters—for healthy fish right from the start.

Tetra SafeStart is not only suitable for setting up a new aquarium but also for situations where the biological balance has been disrupted—for example, after medication treatments, water changes, or a loss of filter bacteria. In all these cases, the product helps to quickly restore a stable biological environment.

It’s easy to use: Shake the bottle well before use and add 5 ml per 6 liters of aquarium water. The recommended minimum temperature is 20 °C. Afterward, a moderate number of fish can be added.

Feeding should be reduced during the first two weeks. We recommend using a high-quality staple food such as TetraMin Staple Food.

For optimal water conditioning, always use Tetra AquaSafe Water Conditioner to neutralize chlorine, copper, and other harmful substances from tap water.

For maximum effectiveness, Tetra SafeStart should be stored at a constant temperature (ideally cool, but not below 2 °C and not above 30 °C) to maintain the activity of the live bacteria.
