Leashes are usually used as a training tool for young dogs, but can also be a good alternative to a flexible retractable lead for animals with a strong hunting instinct or for dogs that are already very well behaved in environments and situations where you want to give them a lot of freedom but still can't or don't want to let them completely off the leash. A drag lead is also ideal for practising commands at a distance.

The rubberized webbing provides additional grip when holding the leash and helps when more force is required to retrieve the animal. The robust and hard-wearing leash material, which can withstand wind and weather, provides additional support. The leash does not have a hand loop at the end, so you can easily let your dog drag the leash behind you without fear of it getting caught.

Load/traction force:
This drag lead is basically designed for small to medium-sized dogs; the manufacturer has not specified any dog weight limits. It can theoretically be used for all dog sizes, although the leash material and carabiner may be too heavy and therefore uncomfortable for very small dogs (Chihuahua, Miniature Pinscher, Yorkshire Terrier etc.).

The decisive factor for use with your dog is the pulling force (mass x acceleration). This leash has withstood loads of 100 kg in puncture tests. In practice, this means that a large 50 kg dog that does not jump into the leash jerkily but keeps the leash continuously taut can be held with it without any problems. A smaller dog that runs into the end of the lead at full speed without braking can exert just as much or even more pulling force as the large dog. However, as the behavior of even the most well-behaved/calm animal can never be predicted exactly, we do not recommend this leash for larger/heavier dogs, but only for medium-sized dogs (up to approx. Border Collie size/weight).
