Virbac Hexagel
Virbac Hexagel is an oral hygiene product for dogs and cats. It is an antiseptic oral gel developed to support the oral health of pets. The gel contains chlorhexidine as the active ingredient, which has antimicrobial properties and helps to reduce the growth of bacteria in the mouth. Hexagel is used in the oral cavity to clean the gum pockets, reduce plaque formation and maintain the oral bacterial flora.

Composition
0.5 % chlorhexidine gluconate
Application in the oral cavity
Shake bottle before use. Apply Hexagel once or twice daily directly to the teeth and along the gum line or apply to a cotton pad and rub gently over the tooth surfaces and mucous membrane.
Always follow your vet's recommendations. For external use only.
Storage
Keep out of reach of children. Store at room temperature.
Commercial form
One bottle contains 100 ml gel and is equipped with a practical atraumatic silicone application tip.

Chlorhexidin in höherer Konzentration verfärbt die Zähne. Ich weiss nicht, was Chlorhexidinglukonat ist.
Chlorhexidinglukonat ist ein Synonym für Chlorhexidin. Chlorhexidin wirkt antiseptisch und wird häufig für die Maulhygiene angewendet, da es eine vorzügliche Wirkung bei Zahnfleischentzündungen hat und die Bildung von Plaque effektiv reduziert. Bei Menschen werden vorübergehende Zahnverfärbungen tatsächlich als Nebenwirkungen aufgeführt. Bei Tieren sind uns keine derartigen Berichte bekannt, was auch daran liegen könnte, dass Zahnverfärbungen im menschlichen Gebiss sicher stärker auffallen als bei Tieren.

Darf man das Produkt bei einer Katze mit Plattenepithelkarzinom im Mund anwenden? Ich suche etwas, das Bakterien abtötet, evtl. die Wundheilung der Wunde im Mund und die Katze palliativ unterstützt.
Die Anwendung von Hexagel bei Katzen mit Plattenepithelkarzinom im Maul ist prinzipiell möglich, sollte aber nur nach Rücksprache mit dem behandelnden Tierarzt erfolgen. Das Gel dient primär der Mundhygiene, und kann helfen, eine bakterielle Infektion des Tumors zu vermeiden. Trotzdem sollte die Anwendung in einem solchen Fall individuell abgewogen werden, um mögliche Reizungen oder Wechselwirkungen im betroffenen Bereich zu vermeiden. Bitte besprechen Sie dies direkt mit Ihrem Tierarzt.

Bonjour, est-ce utilisable sur la muqueuse des babines ? Mon chien bave souvent et à des irritations à ce niveau j’utilisais du Clorexyderm qui aidais bien mais qui n’est peut être pas prévu pour ça.
Bonjour, effectivement le Clorexyderm n'est pas indiqué pour les muqueuses des babines, par contre le Hexagel est adapté, il est spécifique pour la bouche et ses muqueuses.

Mon chien Beagle âgé de 8 ans a un debut de récidive d'épulie sur la gencive au dessus d'une canine. Le vétérinaire ne l'avait pas opéré la 1ere fois. Observation. Mon chien avait fini par l'arracher sans saignements, ni infection.
Je pense avoir un peu irrité cette zone lors d'un brossage.
Puis utiliser sur 10jrs. 1 X/ jrs ce produit : hexagel gel
Hexagel contient de la chlorhexidine pour prévenir les infections en cas d'irritations gingivales. Son utilisation une fois par jour pendant dix jours ne présente aucun risque.

Bonjour, ma chienne a 12 ans et demi. 2 détartrage, mais désormais, vu son âge je ne souhaite pas renouveler de détartrage. Elle a pas mal de tartre et évidemment une haleine pas agréable. Est-ce que Hexagel pourrait convenir ? Merci pour votre aide.
Bonjour,une fois que la plaque dentaire s'est calcifiée en tartre, seul un détartrage permet de l'éliminer. Celui-ci réduit également la quantité de bactéries responsables de la mauvaise haleine et de l'inflammation des gencives.
Le Hexagel peut toutefois être un bon complément pour limiter la prolifération des bactéries et améliorer l'hygiène bucco-dentaire, à condition d'être utilisé correctement : appliquez-le une fois par jour pendant 3 jours, puis 2 à 3 fois par semaine en entretien, en veillant à bien l'appliquer à la jonction entre les dents et les gencives. Il ne permettra cependant pas d'éliminer le tartre déjà présent ni de lutter contre une infection sérieuse.
