- Pregnant and lactating bitches.
Does your dog suffer from annoying itching all over its body or especially in its ears? Does he lick and nibble at his paws? Or is he suffering from digestive problems and diarrhea? This could be due to Food allergy or intolerance. An allergy is an overreaction of the immune system to certain proteins. In the case of an intolerance, on the other hand, the immune system is not involved. However, because the symptoms are very similar in both cases, a visit to the vet is essential. Once a diagnosis has been made, an elimination diet can be a helpful tool in determining the specific triggers for your dog's abnormal physical reactions and avoiding them in the long term.
Monoprotein
By using a single, high-quality protein source: horse meat is considered hypoallergenic and has a very low allergy potential. This reduces initial product and nutrient intolerance symptoms. In other words, the shorter the list of ingredients, the lower the risk of an adverse reaction.
Adjusting the carbohydrate content
Reducing the carbohydrate sources to sweet potatoes and pumpkin also reduces the allergy potential.
Elimination diet
The food is ideally suited as an elimination diet: In this diet, the food components are reduced as much as possible so that you can first observe for a few weeks whether your dog's symptoms decrease. If so, you can gradually increase the food ingredients and find out exactly which ingredients your dog reacts to.
Grain-free
The absence of cereals means that even nutritionally sensitive dogs can enjoy a species-appropriate diet.
Essential fatty acids
The special food contains a high proportion of essential fatty acids, which can inhibit inflammatory reactions and thus reduce the symptoms of an allergy or intolerance.
