astoral® puppy milk contains specific nutrients and active ingredients to compensate for temporarily or permanently increased requirements in order to ensure that puppies are supplied with the nutrients they need for optimum development in the first few days of life.
Puppies that have to be reared without a mother or whose mothers have an insufficient milk yield may have special requirements.

Specific composition
As dog milk cannot be produced on a commercial scale, the particular challenge is to compose a milk substitute from high-quality components that largely meets the specific requirements of this species and enables healthy development.
This includes an appropriate energy density and high-quality protein with all essential amino acids, the right ratio of fat and lecithin for optimum utilization, all minerals and trace elements as well as the high levels of vitamins and vitaminoids typical of breast milk.

Probiotics and prebiotics
In motherless rearing, special attention is paid to stabilizing the intestinal flora, which is particularly unstable in the first few days of life. Probiotic lactic acid bacteria and prebiotic fructo-oligosaccharides as a selective substrate for their activity are beneficial for the healthy development of the intestinal flora.
