CANIPUR - barf
Application
CANIPUR-barf offers a comprehensive and balanced supply for dogs that are fed a raw diet (barf). Thanks to its very high-quality composition, it safely compensates for the possibility of malnutrition or stomach/intestinal problems when barfing and thus creates the conditions for good physical development, an attractive appearance, readiness for action and well-being.
A supply of minerals is important with BARF
The original English term "BARF" now stands for "Bones AndRawFoods". The German term for the abbreviation "BARF" is "Biologisch Artgerechtes Rohes Futter" or, to put it simply, "raw feeding".
This is based on the eating habits of wild dogs and wolves, which eat almost all parts of their prey in a raw state. In addition to the meat, this includes the offal, the digestive tract with its fermented contents, the skin, bones and cartilage. Wild vegetables, fruit and herbs are also frequently consumed.
When implementing barfing in everyday life, it is not always easy to put together a ration that covers requirements. Here, too, it is important to consistently prevent deficiency symptoms and avoid gastrointestinal problems such as constipation or diarrhea.
The common rule of thumb of a barf ration of three quarters raw meat and one quarter fruit and vegetables shows gaps, especially in the "non-meat components" of prey animals, such as offal, skin and subcutaneous tissue, bones and cartilage, stomach and intestinal contents and the wide variety of wild plants.
However, their ingredients are a decisive factor for healthy and successful barfing. If these "non-meat components" of prey animals are not available in the daily barf ration, a versatile and safe substitute must be created elsewhere.
Small dogs (4-15 kg): 5-20 g per day
Medium dogs (16-39 kg): 20-40 g per day
Large dogs (40-80 kg): 40-80 g per day
administer with food.
Due to the higher content of vitamin D3 and trace elements, the daily ration should not be more than doubled.
Feeding duration
To achieve an optimum effect, feeding should take place over a longer period of time. Year-round feeding is unproblematic and improves the results.
