Les bouviers bernois font partie des races de chiens très grands qui ont besoin de beaucoup de temps pour se développer. Bien qu'ils aient généralement terminé leur croissance en taille vers 12 mois, ils continuent à prendre de la substance et du poids jusqu'à l'âge de 18 à 24 mois.
Pour les chien de grandes tailles nous recommandons de passer à une alimentation pour chiens adultes à partir de l'âge de 14 mois.
