Forage Balancer can optimize the healthy metabolism of adult horses. Forage Balancer provides nutrients in the correct amounts and proportions to restore an adult horse’s metabolism to normal within six months. Forage Balancer is particularly suitable for horses that are overweight, have metabolic syndrome, insulin resistance, Cushing’s disease, or are prone to laminitis. It can also be used for high-performance horses and those with poor feed conversion.

Starch and Calorie Intake for a Healthy Diet

Forage Balancer is a low-calorie, low-starch supplemental feed. It provides the horse with all essential vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and fatty acids on a daily basis. As a concentrated source of nutrients, Forage Balancer optimizes the utilization of hay and pasture forage.

The Problem: Nutrients added
to mixed feed are forced into the horse’s diet in uncontrolled doses in order to achieve the calorie intake necessary to maintain body weight. This leads to an oversupply for horses that are less efficient at utilizing feed, as larger quantities are fed, while animals with low energy requirements receive too little of the nutritional supplements.

The Solution:
When feeding Forage Balancer instead of mixed feed, a horse receives the necessary nutrients without additional, excess calories. Forage Balancer is suitable for horses that should receive few carbohydrates, including good forage utilizers with or without excess weight, as well as animals with insulin resistance, Cushing’s syndrome, metabolic syndrome, or laminitis. 85 g of Forage Balancer per day is sufficient to provide an average 450 kg horse with the necessary nutrients.

If your horse is a poor feed converter, needs to maintain or gain weight, or is competing, it may require an additional source of calories. In these cases, you should supplement the horse’s diet with beet pulp or vegetable oil in addition to Forage Balancer and whole oats.

One package (5 kg) lasts approximately 60 days for a 450 kg horse.
