The pure psyllium husk powder from Paws & Patch is rich in essential mucilage and natural fiber. It is a soluble fiber and is therefore excreted via the intestines.
Paws & Patch psyllium husk powder is 100% natural, free from artificial additives and fillers. It is very finely ground and can be easily dosed.
Origin
Paws & Patch psyllium husks come from India and are produced directly from the fresh and dried husks of psyllium seeds.
Analyses have shown that Indian psyllium husks have a higher mucilage content than European psyllium husks. Psyllium husks are obtained by grinding the seeds and then removing the seed kernel. The husks have a smooth, shiny texture and a yellowish-white color.
Effect
The outermost layer (epidermis) of the seed husk contains large quantities of mucilage, which is made up of sugars such as xylose, arabinose and galacturonic acid.
The mucilage contained in the psyllium husk is a soluble fiber and is not absorbed by the body, but is excreted through the intestines.
Once the mucilage enters the intestine, it binds water and swells up.
Paws & Patch psyllium husk powder can bind up to 40-50 times its own weight in water. It can therefore help to maintain a normal weight.
It can also be used to help with changing stool consistency or excessively soft or hard stools.

Paws & Patch psyllium husk powder is made from fresh psyllium seeds. The seeds are gently processed and very finely ground (<60 mash).
Finely ground psyllium husks release more mucilage and are less irritating to the intestinal mucosa.

As a feed additive for the following types of feed:

Mix the psyllium husk powder into the feed daily.
The powder can be given for several weeks up to six weeks or continuously. Continuous administration should be agreed with a vet.
Fresh drinking water should also be provided. The powder is not normally fed directly.
Add psyllium husk powder to the feed when soaked.
Allow the psyllium husk powder to swell for up to 20 minutes in warm water.
The 1:20 rule applies to swelling, 1 g psyllium husk powder at least 20 ml water. The product is supplied with a measuring spoon (ML), which corresponds to approximately 2 g.
FEEDING RECOMMENDATION PER ANIMAL AND DAY
Cats: 1g
Dogs up to 10 kg: 1-2g
Dogs 10 - 20 kg: 2-3g
Dogs over 20 kg: 3-5g
Horses: 30 g per large horse (600 kg). For ponies and small horses, adjust according to body weight.
When feeding for the first time, start with 50 % of the daily dose.
The general feeding recommendations serve as guidelines. These may vary slightly depending on the age, breed, feeding or activity of the animal.
