SPECIFIC Heart & Kidney Support CKD
The content of fish oil and therefore EPA and DHA is exceptionally high in Specific CKD Heart & Kidney Support. EPA and DHA are omega-3 fatty acids that help to slow down the progression of Renal insufficiency in kidney patients. In dogs with heart disease, omega-3 fatty acids counteract cachexia and reduce hypertension and platelet aggregation.
In congestive heart failure, sodium excretion is reduced to compensate for the reduced stroke volume, which directly results in sodium and water retention. The reduced sodium content in SPECIFIC™ Heart & Kidney Support helps to break the vicious cycle of water retention to support the nutritional management of congestive heart failure, edema and hypertension.
The phosphorus content is reduced to prevent hyperphosphatemia and slow the progression of Renal insufficiency.
The reduced protein content, combined with the high biological value of the proteins and the alkaline pH, reduces azotemia in kidney patients. In dogs with liver insufficiency, the likelihood of hyperammonemia and possible hepatic encephalopathy is also reduced. The high-quality protein meets the patient's need for essential amino acids.
The low protein content reduces the concentration of oxalate, cystine and urate in the urine. The induced, slightly alkaline urine pH value combats the precipitation of calcium oxalate, urate and especially cystine crystals. The presence of K-citrate reduces the risk of calcium oxalate precipitation.
The individual daily requirement can vary depending on factors such as breed, environment, season and activity etc.. It is therefore advisable to monitor the general condition and body weight and adjust the amount of food accordingly.

Malheureusement mon Toutou 14ans a des problèmes de santé et c’est exactement ce qui lui fallait car ces croquettes couvrent tous ses besoins alimentaires. Elles sont excellentes je les ai trouvé sur internet en faisant une recherche qui m’a été confirmée par le vétérinaire !
