The swisspet tick tweezers made of blue plastic are a valuable aid for removing ticks. The swisspet tick tweezers guarantee simple but very important removal of the annoying and sometimes dangerous parasites.
A tick that has attached itself should be removed from the skin as quickly as possible. Therisk of transmitting diseases increases with the duration of the sucking act. If the tick is removed within the first 24 hours, the risk of infection is very low.
The tick's sucking tool has many small barbs which make it difficult to remove. There is often a popular myth that a tick has to be twisted out. However, this is not advisable as small parts of the sucking apparatus can break off.
It is advisable to hold the tick close to the skin with the tick tweezers and lift it slowly, not jerkily. After a short time (up to 1 minute) the tick will let go on its own.
