SandXpell is a complementary feed for horses that contains psyllium husk, a mass-forming fiber. It is suitable for horses that graze a lot on sandy wastelands or spend a lot of time in sand arenas.

Horses that are kept on sandy or short pastures ingest sand and dirt when grazing: there is a risk of sand colic. If sand or dirt accumulates in the gastrointestinal tract, this can lead to intestinal obstruction. With its psyllium husk content, SandXpell promotes the motility of the gastrointestinal tract.

SandXpell contains psyllium husks:

• Psyllium husks are mainly used to support the removal of accumulated sand in the intestinal tract.
• Psyllium husks are rich in soluble fibres. Mixed with water, the mucilage and hemicellulose form a pulpy, easy-to-slide mass.
• Psyllium husks act like a sponge in the gastrointestinal tract: they absorb water and harmful substances. This creates a soft, voluminous mass that passes through the large intestine more quickly.
• Psyllium husks have a prebiotic effect and promote the growth of beneficial bacteria in the large intestine.
