What is Carbodote® Suspension?
Carbodote® Suspension is a liquid dietary supplement for dogs, cats, and small pets based on plant-derived activated charcoal. Its liquid texture ensures rapid distribution throughout the gastrointestinal tract. Thanks to its high binding capacity (adsorption), the activated charcoal traps unwanted substances like a sponge, thereby hindering their absorption into the body.
When is it appropriate to administer Carbodote® Suspension?
The suspension is ideal for acute first-aid treatment following the ingestion of:
- Unsuitable foods: such as chocolate, cocoa, or xylitol.
- Plant-based substances: from houseplants or garden plants (e.g., lilies, tulips).
- Garden supplies: such as fertilizer or slug bait
- Foreign substances: medications not intended for consumption by animals.

Uses:
CARBODOTE® is used to help manage the absorption of unwanted substances or excessive production of intestinal gas (bloating).
Storage:
Store at room temperature. Use within 2 months after opening.
Directions for Use
Take orally. Shake the bottle before use.
Ingestion of a harmful substance:
Administer 2 to 5 ml of Carbodote per kg, depending on the amount of the ingested undesirable substance, either orally or via a nasogastric tube. If necessary, administration may be repeated every 4 to 6 hours within 24 hours. If a large amount of the unwanted substance has been ingested, the recommended dose of Carbodote may be increased fourfold (i.e., up to 20 ml/kg). If possible and provided there are no contraindications, vomiting should be induced in the animal as a preliminary therapeutic measure within the first 6 hours after ingestion of a harmful substance.
Digestive disorders:
Administer 0.5 ml of Carbodote per kg orally, in the morning and evening, until the desired effect is achieved. The product should be administered at approx. 3 hours apart from meals and other oral medications.
Your veterinarian may adjust the dosage instructions; please follow his or her advice. The product causes the feces to turn black. The product may stain fabrics.

Was ist der Unterschied zwischen diesem Produkt und dem Carbodote Repeat Applikator?
Guten Tag,
Der Unterschied liegt in der Konsistenz und in der Art der Anwendung: Cabodote ist flüssig, man muss die Flüssigkeit mit einer Spritze aufziehen und in das Maul des Hundes geben (was manchmal schmutzig werden kann). Carbodote Repeat ist ein Gel, das mit dem Applikator direkt in das Maul verabreicht werden kann.

Schade, dass es keine Aktivkohle in Pulverform gibt, ohne weitere Zusätze. Beimischen zum Nassfutter wäre einfacher und würde nicht so eine Sauerei verursachen. Optimal wäre ein mitgelieferter Messbecher oder eine Spritze.
