Vetramil paw wax

Protection & care in one Can
Vetramil® Paw Wax is a rich ointment based on honey and beeswax.

The beeswax forms a protective layer against external influences such as salt, heat and snow, while various essential oils care for heavily stressed and cracked paws, calluses or simply the owner's and vet's hands.

  • Honey contains natural antioxidants and enzymes that cleanse and soothe the skin.
  • Beeswax forms a protective layer on the pads.
  • Eucalyptus oil and sunflower oil nourish the skin and strengthen the skin structure.
  • Almond oil contains a high concentration of vitamin E, which protects the skin from sunlight and oxygen radicals.
  • Shea butter, lavender oil and coconut oil: Soothe and regenerate irritated skin and keep it supple. This prevents the formation of painful cracks.
  • A bitter taste ensures that dogs do not lick the paw wax.
  • Vetramil® paw wax is also suitable for indoor use. It makes the paws less slippery so that the dog has a secure and firm grip when walking, even on slippery floors

Application:
Thanks to its creamy consistency, the paw wax is easy to spread on the affected paws. For optimum effect, a thin layer of paw wax can be applied several times a day.

Composition:
Water, honey, cetylstearyl alcohol, caprylic acid, shea butter (Butyrospermum Parkii), glyceryl stearate, cera alba (white beeswax), alcohol (denatured), cetearyl glucoside, almond oil (Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis), bisabolol, cetyl palmitate, Citric acid, cocoglycerides, denatonium benzoate, eucalyptus oil (Eucalyptus globulus), lavender oil (Lavandula angustifolia), limonene, linalool, menthol, tocopherol, potassium sorbate, sodium anisate, sodium benzoate, sodium levulinate.

Wann trage ich die Salbe am besten auf, vor oder nach dem Laufen? Und werden die Ballen dadurch nicht aufgeweicht?

Der Wachs wird in einer dünnen Schicht aufgetragen und rasch von der Haut aufgenommen, daher weicht es die Pfoten nicht auf.

Sie können die Pfoten präventiv vor dem Spaziergang eincremen oder als Pflege auch danach. Sollte Ihr Hund mit Streusalz in Berührung gekommen sein, empfehlen wir Ihnen, die Pfoten nach dem Spaziergang mit lauwarmem Wasser zu reinigen und dann den Wachs dünn aufzutragen.

Wir haben glatte Steinböden drinnen. Wenn ich dem Hund nach dem Spaziergang die Pfoten einreibe, besteht nicht das Risiko, dass er rutscht?

Grundsätzlich zieht das Pfotenwachs gut und schnell in die Haut ein. In der kurzen Zeit, bis es vollständig eingezogen ist, kann es jedoch vorkommen, dass Ihr Hund auf glatten Oberflächen etwas rutscht. 
Wir empfehlen daher, das Pfotenwachs am besten auf dem Liegeplatz aufzutragen und Ihren Hund danach kurz ruhen zu lassen. Alternativ können auch für einen Moment Socken angezogen werden, bis das Wachs vollständig absorbiert ist.

Darf Vetramil Wachs in eine schmale, tiefe, nicht blutende Wunde in der Pfotenballe gestopft werden?

Das Wachs dient dem äusserlichen Schutz intakter Haut vor Salz, Hitze oder Kälte und zur Pflege trockener, rissiger Pfotenballen. Zur Versorgung von tiefen Wunden eignet es sich nicht, da die Gefahr besteht, dass durch das Wachs ein optimales, sauerstoffarmes Milieu für gefährliche anaerobe Bakterien geschaffen wird. Tiefe Pfotenwunden sollten tierärztlich untersucht und versorgt werden.
