How does Adaptil Junior work?

The mother dog releases a pheromone (scent) into the environment, which calms and relaxes her puppies and gives them a feeling of safety and security.

ADAPTIL® Junior conveys these "feel-good messages" to give your puppy a good feeling during the settling-in period at your home and helps him to get to know different environmental situations in a relaxed manner during the socialization phase. Your puppy's body heat warms the Collar and thus ensures that the feel-good pheromones are distributed in the immediate environment. It is important that the Collar is always in close contact with your dog's coat.

• The first journey from the breeder to the new home
  By putting the ADAPTIL Junior Collar on your puppy when you pick him up from the breeder before the first car journey, you give him a sense of security and safety and prevent your puppy from developing anxiety about transportation.

• The first nights
  Many puppies react to being separated from their mother and littermates with restlessness and whining during the first few nights. ADAPTIL Junior helps your puppy to feel secure and thus to sleep through the night more quickly.
• Fear of the unknown
  New surroundings with unfamiliar impressions and situations can unsettle puppies. ADAPTIL Junior helps puppies to react more relaxed to unfamiliar situations, strange people or fear-inducing objects and to get used to them more quickly.
• Education and socialization
  Socialization is a crucial development phase and, depending on the breed, takes place up to 16 weeks of age. ADAPTIL Junior helps your puppy to perceive the many new stimuli positively and supports its development into a well-socialized dog.
• Staying home alone

How do I put the ADAPTIL Junior Collar on my puppy?

1. Place a finger in the plastic loop on the inside of the Collar near the buckle
2. Use the loop to pull off the thin plastic to unwind the Collar.
3. Close the Collar in a wide position. Pull it over the dog's head until it rests loosely on the neck.
4. Tighten the Collar so that there is no more than two fingers' width of space. Make sure that the Collar is properly fastened.
5. Cut off the protruding part of the Collar.
6. As puppies are growing, the fit of the collar should be checked and adjusted regularly so that the collar is not too tight.
