Protexin Cystophan
Cystophan helps to alleviate the symptoms of Feline Idiopathic Cystitis (FIC):
- Glucosamine and hyaluronic acid support the regeneration and reconstruction of the protective glycosaminoglycan layer on the inside of the urinary bladder.
- L-tryptophan is an amino acid and is considered a precursor of serotonin. Serotonin has a positive influence on mood and anxiety. Cystophan promotes the reduction of stress and nervousness. Stress triggers FIC and can worsen the clinical picture.
- Chicken flavoring ensures good palatability.
The capsules can be administered directly or their tasty contents can be sprinkled over the feed.
Each capsule contains: N-acetyl-D-glucosamine (125 mg) L-tryptophan (37.5 mg) Hyaluronic acid (10 mg)
Initially, Cystophan can be dosed as follows for at least two weeks :
Cats < 3 kg: 1 capsule daily
Cats > 3 kg: 2 capsules daily
As maintenance, the capsules should then be administered as follows
Cats up to 3 kg: 1 capsule every other day
Cats > 3 kg: 1 capsule daily
The capsules can be administered directly or their tasty contents can be littered over the food. The capsules can be administered continuously or according to your vet's instructions.

Wie lange darf ich meiner Katze diese Kapseln geben?
Your iPet team Es gibt keine maximale Dauer; Cystophan eignet sich gut zur Langzeitgabe. Bitte wechseln Sie nach frühstens zwei Wochen der Verabreichung auf die Dosierung, welche unter "Erhaltung" angegeben ist (Katzen bis 3kg: 1 Kapsel jeden zweiten Tag / Katzen über 3kg: 1 Kapsel täglich).

In diesem Fall kann es sinnvoll sein, einen Verhaltenstierarzt oder auch einfach eine zweite tierärztliche Meinung einzuholen. Unterstützend können Sie täglich Ergänzungsfuttermittel wie Cystaid oder Calmurofel geben, die helfen, Ihre Katze zu entspannen und einer erneuten Blasenentzündung vorzubeugen. Auch Veränderungen im Umfeld – etwa eine zusätzliche Katzentoilette oder eine erhöhte Wasseraufnahme – können sehr hilfreich sein.

Meine Katze w bekommt einmal Täglich das Protexin Cystophan, nun hat sie einwenig dünner Stuhlgang da ich ihr eine schleckpaste gegeben habe. Sie ist leider sehr anfällig was für Futter ich ihr gebe. Nun zur meiner Frage: da wir nicht immer Hähnchenbrust zu Hause haben, könnte ich ihr was anderes geben? ZB von Purina Proplan FortiFlora?

Da es kein Futterersatz ist, empfiehlt sich als Alternative zur Hühnerbrust ein tierärztliches Gastrointestinal-Futter, z.B. Hill's Prescription Diet Gastrointestinal Biome. Als Schleckpaste zum Eingeben des Cystophan eignen sich in der Regel Add One oder Kattovit Gastro Cream auch für Katzen mit sensibler Verdauung gut.
