Is your dog urinating more frequently or suddenly no longer house-trained? Is he having difficulty relieving himself or is he taking longer than usual to do so? A disease of the urinary tract - whether caused by a bacterial infection or due to age, breed or diet - can lead to the formation of painful urinary stones. The most common type of urinary stones in dogs are so-called struvite stones, which are caused by the deposition of minerals and substances in the urinary bladder. Because your dog cannot excrete them via the urine, the four-legged patient needs your support.

Adapted protein content
By preventing struvite stones: a low protein content and an appropriate amount of magnesium and phosphorus prevent the (new) formation of struvite stones.

Adjusted pH value
Through the dissolution of struvite stones: By adding methionine, the pH value of the urine (6.2-6.5) is optimized. Acidified urine can dissolve existing struvite stones.

Drink a lot!
Increased fluid intake is essential with this diet so that the amount of urine is increased and the urinary tract can be flushed sufficiently.
