Made from one piece
All products are manufactured in one piece and therefore do not have a removable cover, as is the case with conventional dog cushions. To ensure optimum hygiene, all Doctor Bark products are washable as a whole, i.e. as they are, at 95°C. Only at this washing temperature are all germs, parasites, foul-smelling body oils and sebum safely washed out, even inside the lying surfaces. This keeps your premises and your car free of the typical dog odor.

Orthopaedic benefits
All products have been developed with a clear focus on medical orthopaedic benefits.
Orthopaedic lying surfaces compensate for pressure and point loads and hardly show any signs of sagging, even with intensive use. This requires a specially designed filling material. This is a specially treated siliconized, spherical filling material that acts like a spring. This innovative Doctor Bark technology allows the interlaced fibers of the filling material to act like a net, thus balancing out the pressure load on the lying surface.

Like normal upholstered furniture, conventional dog beds can hardly withstand any pressure on one side. The dog's spine sags and the joints quickly rest on the floor. This can lead to spinal and joint problems in the medium and long term.

An orthopaedic dog bed, on the other hand, relieves pressure, relaxes muscles, stimulates circulation and relieves pain.

Orthopaedic dog beds are therefore not only recommended in the event of complaints, but also as a preventative measure before they even arise.

Proper care of Doctor Bark products is an important prerequisite for their longevity. The orthopaedic dog cushions in particular should be shaken out and turned again and again, just as you should do with your own mattress. The washing instructions should also be followed so that you can enjoy the products for a long time.

Doctor Bark wants to produce sustainably, which is why particular emphasis is placed on high quality in production. Doctor Bark does not want to produce disposable goods that are produced and distributed cheaply and quickly to the detriment of the production staff and the environment.

This is why great importance is attached to the materials used and the manufacturing process in the various production phases:

1. High fabric quality
The fabrics are very durable and particularly dense (fiber-tight). The fabrics used are made from a cotton blend, are UV-resistant and have a grammage of 300 g/sqm (in comparison, a T-shirt has a grammage of 70 g/sqm).

The composition of the outer fabric is designed so that it dries quickly and does not lose its original shape (Dry-Fit-Comfort).

Thanks to the patented filling used by Doctor Bark, these products can be washed at 95°C without the filling material clumping.

The fabrics are also ironed at over 120°C in preparation, so that shrinkage of the fabric is reduced to a minimum during the first wash.

2. Durak yarns
Doctor Bark only uses high-quality Durak yarns, whose stable cotton coating cools the polyester core at high sewing speeds. This protects the solid polyester core from heat and keeps it stable.

3. Single-needle quilting process
Doctor Bark uses a frame single-needle quilting machine, the needle of which takes over the entire quilting of the product and thus carefully completes the seam. This process is much more complex and time-consuming, but the products are of significantly higher quality and correspondingly durable.

4. Stitch spacing
Doctor Bark uses a stitch spacing of 3 mm as opposed to the usual 7/8 mm stitch spacing. This means that there is less tension on the thread and the dog's claws do not get under the stitching.

At Doctor Bark, every fabric is cut by hand. Every edging, every zipper, every loop is sewn in or on by hand.
