Hunger for words - your dog learns to speak!

Everyone, including your dog, has a voice and the potential to share it. By combining the fields of animal psychology, speech pathology and assisted communication, the Hunger for Words brand is paving the way to unlock this potential in our dogs.

Hunger for Words is pioneering the field of inter-species communication (dogs and humans in this case), starting with Stella, the world's first talking dog.

The talking buttons of Hunger for Words were created by Christina Hunger, a speech and language therapist. You see, when she brought her new puppy Stella home, she noticed that she displayed many of the same pre-verbal communication skills as toddlers just before they begin to speak, and that's when she had an idea! In her practice, Christina Hunger uses AAC devices to help her patients express themselves with words. As dogs can understand words, could Stella use an AAC device to express herself in the same way as her patients? Thus was born the idea, the product and the now global "Talking Pet" movement.
