Tips for Protecting Your Dog from Heat in the Car

It should be common knowledge that dogs should not be left waiting in the car in warm weather. But how do you protect your dog from high temperatures during the drive?

Perhaps you know the following situation: You've been on an extensive morning walk and return to your car. By now, it's standing in the sun, and when you open the tailgate, a tropical heat hits you. How can you ensure that the temperatures in the Crate quickly reach comfortable levels for your dog and are maintained even during longer journeys?

Proceed as follows:

• Open all doors and ventilate the heated vehicle thoroughly.
• During this time, give your dog something to drink and only then let them get into the Crate.
• After starting the drive, run the air conditioning on recirculation mode at maximum cooling power for a short time.
• Use a Pet-Fan, which can be attached to the Crate, ensuring improved air circulation so that the temperature inside the Crate also drops quickly.
• Place a cooling mat in the Crate, which activates with the dog's weight and provides additional cooling!
• If the rear area of the car needs to be protected from warming up by the sun, have sun protection films installed on the rear window and the rear side windows.

Do not leave dogs in the car!

We all know it, but it cannot be said often enough: Dogs must not be left in the car in warm weather, not even for a few minutes! Even at outside temperatures of 20°C, life-threatening temperatures can develop in the car for dogs. Even opening the windows does not protect against a rapid temperature increase!
