MSM (Methylsulfonylmethane) is a high quality, bioavailable form of organic sulfur that occurs naturally in fresh forage plants, but is largely lost during forage processing and the drying process for storable roughage (hay and silage). Many stabled competition horses and ponies may not consume sufficient amounts of this essential nutrient.

Sulphur has many important functions in the horse's body. It is a vital component of some amino acids and certain vitamins. Sulphur also plays a very important role in collagen production. Collagen is a main component of connective tissue (ligaments and tendons) and cartilage - the shock-absorbing layer in the joints, so to speak. These specialized tissues are made up of proteins held together by flexible sulphur compounds, which in turn give the important body structures their crucial elasticity.

• Organic sulphur (MSM) improves the permeability of cell membranes. This improves the absorption of nutrients (minerals, vitamins, trace elements) in the cells.
