Grain-free cat food
Cats are carnivores and quickly react with flatulence and diarrhea if the grain content in their food is too high. A cat should not eat more than around 25g of grain per day. Cats that suffer from a grain allergy or grain intolerance should be given a grain-free cat food. here you will find our grain-free varieties of dry food, wet food and kitten food as well as grain-free snacks for your cat.

Is grain in cat food unhealthy?
Cats are pure carnivores and are relatively poor at digesting cereals. Carbohydrates only play a subordinate role for them as a source of energy. Nevertheless, in principle it is not unhealthy for cats if their food contains a certain amount of grain. Cereals contain many essential fatty acids as well as high amounts of trace elements, vitamins and minerals. It also provides important dietary fiber, which ensures good digestion and can prevent constipation. It is therefore by no means simply a cheap filler. Read more about this in our advice topic: Is grain in dog and cat food unhealthy?
Which cats benefit from grain-free cat food?
Cats with a hypersensitivity to grains or gluten in particular can benefit from grain-free cat food. As a substitute, potatoes, sweet potatoes, pumpkin and special vegetables provide the necessary nutrients (fiber, vitamins, carbohydrates and minerals).
Grain-free cat food can be fed to both kittens and adult cats. For senior cats, care should be taken to ensure that the protein content of the food is not too high, as this can put a strain on the kidneys.
