Mousse in a fresh pouch for cats with urinary stone disease

ROYAL CANIN® URINARY S/O Mousse is a complete dietary food for cats to dissolve struvite stones and reduce recurrence of struvite stones.

Area of application of Urinary S/O Mousse:

• Urinary stone disease (struvite urolithiasis)
• Dissolution of struvite stones
• Prophylaxis of struvite and calcium oxalate stones
• recurrent bladder infections (feline idiopathic cystitis)
• Urinary tract disease in cats (FLUTD = Feline Lower Urinary Tract Disease)

Not suitable for:

• Chronic Renal insufficiency
• Heart disease (with recommended sodium restriction)
• Use of uric acidifying substances
• Growth, pregnancy and lactation

The URINARY S/O Loaf diet has the following objectives:

• moderately acidify the urine (pH 5.8 - 6.2) to prevent and dissolve struvite stones without increasing the risk of calcium oxalate formation
• controlled levels of certain minerals to undersaturate the urine with urinary calculi (prophylaxis of struvite and calcium oxalate stones)
• to increase the daily urine volume (prophylaxis of struvite and calcium oxalate stone formation)
• Dilutes the urine due to its high moisture content to support the treatment of recurrent bladder infections in cats

The special properties of ROYAL CANIN URINARY S/O Loaf:

• the formula is suitable for producing moderate acidification of the urine
• different wet foods extend the therapeutic possibilities; animals with different temperaments can therefore be optimally adapted
• moderate reduction of the calcium and oxalate content
• moderately reduced phosphorus and protein content
• patented antioxidant complex of vitamins E and C as well as taurine and lutein
• reduced magnesium content

Duration of treatment
5 to 12 weeks or until the urinary crystals/stones dissolve. To prevent recurrence, the diet should be continued for at least another 6 months.

Important note
This product is a veterinary diet from the ROYAL CANIN® Veterinary Health Nutrition range. It is therefore important that the food is only fed on the recommendation of a veterinary surgeon. This will ensure that your pet receives exactly the food it really needs.

A change in diet should be made carefully and gradually over a period of 7-10 days. Pay attention to the correct portion size - especially with mixed feeding.

Mixed feeding possible
To meet the individual preferences of all cats, ROYAL CANIN® Urinary S/O wet food is also available with morsels in sauce or as dry food with crunchy kibble. Mixed feeding gives the food different consistencies, which can stimulate the appetite. Wet food has a more intense flavor and its moisture content helps to regulate the animal's water balance. Dry food, on the other hand, is easier to absorb and good for the teeth.

Pet owners should only feed affected animals URINARY S/O, otherwise the effectiveness of the product will be reduced.
