Urinary S/O Moderate Calorie Morsels in Gravy supports the dissolution of struvite stones and prevents the formation of new struvite stones and calcium oxalate stones. This feed is therefore particularly indicated for

• Dissolution and prophylaxis of struvite stones
• Prophylaxis of calcium oxalate stones
• Cystitis, including those without a recognizable cause (feline idiopathic cystitis).

Not suitable for:

• Chronic Renal insufficiency
• Heart disease (with recommended sodium restriction)
• Use of uric acidifying substances
• Growth, pregnancy and lactation

Mode of action of Urinary Moderate Calorie Morsels in Gravy :

Urinary dilution
The wet food increases your cat's water intake and thus also helps to increase urine volume. Like the other products in the Urinary line, it also contains diuretic substances that help to reduce the urine concentration (low RSS value) and thus prevent the formation of new urinary stones. Five to twelve weeks of consistent feeding are necessary for the struvite stones to dissolve. To prevent a relapse, the diet should be continued for at least another six months. The vet will monitor the diet with regular blood and urine tests.

Dissolution of struvite
The mixture of nutrients contained in this formula helps to dissolve struvite crystals and stones that can form in the bladder.

Low RSS value
This formula has a low RSS value (relative supersaturation). This reduces the concentration of ions and prevents the formation of urinary stones.

The adapted energy content helps cats with a tendency to be overweight (after castration, little exercise, due to breed) to become more mobile again. Mixed feeding possible
To meet the individual preferences of all cats, ROYAL CANIN® Urinary S/O Moderate Calorie is also available as a dry food with crunchy kibble. Mixed feeding gives the food different consistencies, which can stimulate the appetite. Wet food has a more intense flavor and its moisture content helps to regulate the animal's water balance. Dry food, on the other hand, is easier to absorb and good for the teeth.
