Highly digestible ingredients compensate for the reduced gastrointestinal enzyme activity and ensure maximum absorption of nutrients from the food. This dietary food is therefore ideal for patients with gastrointestinal disorders such as acute and chronic diarrhea, vomiting and/or flatulence.

The high content of minerals and fat-soluble vitamins compensates for the reduced absorption in the patient's gastrointestinal system due to illness. The increased electrolyte content compensates for the increased loss of electrolytes during diarrhea and vomiting.
ss-1,3/1,6-glucans (from yeast) can bind to the receptors of white blood cells and thus stimulate the immune system and support an adequate immune response. SPECIFIC™ CID Digestive Support also contains egg powder, which is rich in egg immunoglobulins. Immunoglobulins can bind specifically to bacteria, viruses and protozoa in the intestinal tract. This prevents pathogens from binding to the intestinal wall, causing damage to the intestinal villi and the associated diarrhea.

SPECIFIC™ CID/CIW Digestive Support contains mannan-oligosaccharides (MOS). MOS can bind pathogenic bacteria in the intestinal tract and thus prevent them from adhering to the intestinal wall. MOS also stimulate the local immune response in the intestinal tract.

Plantago seed (psyllium) is a gel-forming soluble fiber that can absorb many times its own weight in liquid and is known for its beneficial effect on the regulation of gastrointestinal activity.

Yucca extract reduces the production of foul-smelling gases and the unpleasant odor of faeces.
