SPECIFIC Struvite Dissolution FSW

+ Indications:

  • Temporary diet for the dissolution of struvite stones.

- Contraindications:

  • Urolithiasis caused by calcium oxalate, ammonium urate or
    Cystine
  • Simultaneous administration of uric acidifying substances
  • Metabolic or renal acidosis
  • Heart failure, hypertension and edema
  • Puppies and pregnant or lactating females

Properties:

The diet has a reduced magnesium and phosphorus content (components of struvite stones) to dissolve struvite stones and prevent struvite deposits and stones.

An induced pH value of the urine below 6.4 dissolves existing struvite stones and prevents the formation of new struvite stones.

The increased sodium content promotes diuresis and thus reduces the mineral content in the urine and increases the urinary frequency.

The individual daily requirement can vary depending on factors such as breed, environment, season and activity etc.. It is therefore advisable to monitor the general condition and body weight and adjust the amount of food accordingly.
