Complete food for cats older than 8 years
Properties:
- slightly reduced protein content
- reduced phosphorus and sodium content
- increased potassium content
- increased concentration of vitamins A, E and the B-complex
- increased taurine concentration
- high concentration of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids
- increased content of soluble and fermentable fibers
- results in a neutral urine pH.
The reduced protein, phosphorus and sodium content reduces the burden on the kidneys and slows down the progression of Renal insufficiency in older cats. The high-quality proteins provide a sufficient amount of essential amino acids.
EPA and DHA are omega-3 fatty acids that support skin, coat and joint function. The increased content of EPA and DHA also supports healthy kidney function, normal blood pressure and blood lipid levels, among other things.
The slightly reduced protein and sodium content, the increased potassium citrate content and the induced urine pH of 6.6 prevent the formation of calcium oxalate and support a healthy urinary tract. The RSS value for struvite and calcium oxalate is < 1 and < 2.5 respectively.
The increased crude fiber content promotes the excretion of ingested hair through the faeces and reduces hairballs. Yucca extract reduces the formation of foul-smelling gases and improves the unpleasant odor of faeces.
The individual daily requirement can vary depending on factors such as breed, environment, season and activity etc.. It is therefore advisable to monitor the general condition and body weight and adjust the amount of food accordingly.
