HPM Dog Urology U1 Dissolution & Prevention
Complete food for adult dogs
This food was developed for dogs with urinary stone problems and its formula supports the dissolution of struvite stones. A urine pH value of between 6.0 and 6.5 prevents the formation of new struvite and oxalate crystals.
The high amounts of protein and sodium in the food stimulate the dog's drinking water intake, so that the urine volume and the frequency of urination increase. An extract of dried artichoke leaves also helps to dilute the urine.
The addition of the phosphorus binder chitosan helps to reduce the availability of phosphorus and reduce phosphorus excretion via the urine. The addition of potassium citrate limits the formation of calcium oxalate crystals.
This complete feed for adult and older dogs is suitable for dissolving struvite stones, reducing recurrence of struvite stones and reducing the formation of oxalate stones. It should not be used during growth, pregnancy and lactation, chronic kidney disease or heart failure.
