Royal Canin Urinary U/C Low Purine
ROYAL CANIN® Urinary U/C is a balanced and nutritious Complete food specially formulated to help dogs with urinary problems such as lower urinary tract disease due to urate stones.
Scope of application of ROYAL CANIN® Urinary U/C:
- Prevention of recurrence of metabolic urinary stones (urate, cystine)
- Hyperuricosis
- Maintenance nutrition for adult dogs of certain breeds with a predisposition to the formation of metabolic urinary stones (e.g. Dalmatians)
- Accompanying leishmaniasis therapy when using xanthine oxidase inhibitors (e.g. allopurinol)
Not suitable for:
- Growth, pregnancy and lactation
The mode of action of ROYAL CANIN® Urinary U/C:
Urate Control
This formula contains a selection of proteins with a low purine content to reduce the formation of urate stones.
Cystine Control
Reduced levels of certain amino acids and proteins can help to reduce the likelihood of cystine stones forming in the urinary tract.
Skin barrier
The very high levels of biotin, niacin and pantothenic acid in combination with zinc and linoleic acid help to reduce fluid loss through the skin and strengthen its barrier effect.
Protection through antioxidants
A synergistic combination of antioxidants (vitamin E, vitamin C, taurine, lutein) can protect the body's cells from attacks by aggressive metabolic end products
Duration of treatment
Urate urinary stones: at least 6 months. In the case of permanent metabolic disorders, the diet can be fed for life.
Cystine urinary stones: provisionally up to one year. The course of treatment should be monitored by regular checks.
Important note
This product is a veterinary diet from the ROYAL CANIN® Veterinary Health Nutrition range. It is therefore important that the food is only fed on the recommendation of a veterinary surgeon. This will ensure that your pet receives exactly the food it really needs.
Pet owners should only feed affected animals URINARY U/C, as otherwise the effectiveness of the product will be limited.
A change in diet should be made carefully and gradually over a period of 7-10 days. Pay attention to the correct portion size.

Ist es korrekt, dass dieses Trockenfutter keine Fleischkomponente beinhaltet?
Your iPet team Das Royal Canin Urinary U/C Low Purine enthält kein Fleisch. Die Proteine stammen von Eiern, Weizen und Mais. Dadurch wird ein tiefer Puringehalt erreicht und die Hunde erhalten trotzdem sämtliche essentiellen Aminosäuren in ausreichenden Mengen.

Wir haben vom Hersteller auf Anfrage folgende Rückmeldung erhalten:
Es gibt für die Messung des Puringehaltes keine einheitliche Messmethode. Daher können wir keinen genauen Wert nennen. Der niedrige Puringehalt in URINARY U/C setzt sich aus den ausgewählten verwendeten purinarmen Eiweißquellen zusammen, z. B. Weizengluten und Ei.

Bonjour, pourriez-vous me recommander un produit à mâcher ayant un effet nettoyant sur les dents pour un chien atteint de leishmaniose et traité à l'allopurinol ? Merci.
Your iPet team Les chiens sous traitement à l'allopurinol présentent un risque élevé de calculs urinaires de xanthine et nécessitent un régime pauvre en purines. Les friandises d'origine animale (viande ou peau) sont très riches en purines et sont donc contre-indiquées. Pour réduire la plaque dentaire, il est donc préférable d'utiliser des produits végétariens, par exemple de VegDog ou QCHEFS.

Mein Leishmaniose Beagle hat seit 6 Monaten infolge Allopurinol das Futter - es schmeckt ihm sehr - doch leider hat er sehr starken Durchfall - habe es abgesetzt und versuche es nach 2 Wochen wieder zu füttern. Kennt sonst noch jemand, dass der Hund davon Durchfall kriegt?
